About the event
Music in the Burnhams' First Summer Festival starts celebrating the life of composer Julius Benedict.
Launching the festival, is a celebratory service which features choruses and arias from Benedict’s cantata The Legend of St Cecilia, sung by St Martin’s Voices, conducted by Andrew Earis. It will be recorded for broadcast as the Daily Service on BBC Radio 4 on St Cecilia’s Day (a day set aside to honour St Cecilia of Rome, the patron saint of musicians, church music, and poets) on 22nd November.
