We’re delighted to share the launch of ChoralCast with St Martin’s Voices, our new monthly podcast that opens the doors to life inside the choir. Created for listeners who love choral music - and those curious to learn more - ChoralCast is a relaxed space to explore the people, ideas and creativity behind the sound of St Martin’s Voices.

Hosted by alto Sophie, the podcast brings together singers, composers, conductors and collaborators for honest conversations about music-making today. Each episode goes beyond performance, revealing the inspiration, challenges and stories that shape our work - from commissioning new pieces to preparing for major performances.

Across our opening episodes, ChoralCast has already explored a rich range of themes. Our inaugural episode featured composers Bob Chilcott and Lucy Walker, discussing their creative journeys and what draws them to write for voices as our new Composers-in-Association. Following that, our festive episode, A Babe is Born: Music for Christmas, focused on the music behind our most recent Christmas album. Joined by Director of Music Andrew Earis, composer Grace-Evangeline Mason and singer George Cook, we explored how seasonal repertoire is shaped, rehearsed and brought to life - and why Christmas music continues to resonate so deeply with singers and audiences alike.

Most recently, ChoralCast has ventured into new creative territory through a special collaboration with The National Gallery, exploring connections between choral music and visual art. This episode invites listeners to experience music through a different lens, discovering how colour, texture and imagery can influence the way we listen and respond to sound.

Whether you’re a long-time supporter, a fellow musician, or simply enjoy discovering how music is made, ChoralCast with St Martin’s Voices offers a new way to connect with our work - and with the voices behind it. New episodes are released monthly- and we’d love you to listen and subscribe! To join the conversation, click on our podcast tab on our website!
